Drive-In Theaters
Drive-In Theaters are all around Mooresville and becoming more and more popular as time goes on. This entail going to an outside big projector, then in your car you go to a certain radio station, and it presents the audio for the movie. There are different Drive-Ins all across Indiana. Some of these are priced by the carload, while others are by each person. There are also commonly different deals for specific nights a person would go on, where prices can be as low as $5 per person. The closest to MHS would be Centerbrook Drive-In Theater in Martinsville. Another theatre, Tibbs, in Indianapolis. A third and quite popular one around Mooresville is Canary Creek Cinemas in Franklin with 8 different indoor theaters and 2 outdoor drive-in theaters. These are all priced very differently, but most believe that the theaters provide a rewarding and fun time.
Junior Rachel Harshman decided that it would be a fun date idea to go with her boyfriend, sophomore AJ Defur. Before the movie, they went to the Dollar Store and got lots of candy and chips to snack on. They went on the opening night of Centerbrook Drive-In to see the new Super Mario Bros. They got Mcdonald’s for dinner to end the night.
“It was lots of fun, I love going to drive-ins,” Harshman said.
Sophomore Addy Keith went to the same theater as Harshman and Defur, on another day. Keith decided to go with her family. She saw the same movie as well. They decided to go in a GMC Terrain. Before the movies they also decided to get some good snacks to munch on.
“I got Swedish fish and popcorn,” Keith said.
With the weather getting hotter and summer nearing, Drive-In theaters are just one of the many fun activities available to do to pass time. They could be a cute date, or just a fun time with family and friends!
