MHS Top 20 Banquet
Mooresville High School’s Top 20 Banquet is a celebration for the top 20 class students who have worked extremely hard to maintain such a high position in class rank. The banquet provides a way for students and their families to come together and celebrate the students' accomplishments. Furthermore, the student is also allowed to bring a teacher that has had an impact on them and their accomplishments from elementary or middle school and a teacher from high school.
The students who have been invited to the Top 20 Banquet are much more aware that their accomplishments have been guided and helped by the hands of so many positive influencers in their life. The influencers to the students may not always know the impact that they have deep down within them, but the students feel that impact later on in their life and they are truly grateful for all of the people that have had such a strong and supportive impact. Senior Josie Scott had many positive things to say about the people in her life that helped guide her to the position she was in today.
“My family was really supportive of me and my mom is my biggest fan. My dad is also really supportive and driven as well and he has pushed me since elementary school,” Scott said.
Continually, students who have been invited to the banquet also create speeches in order to explain how they got into the position that they are currently in and thank those who have helped guide them throughout their lifetime. The speeches that the students create show passion, humbleness, and gratitude for the current position that they are currently in, and they also thank those who guided them. Senior Alyssa Kline is currently in the process of writing her speech for the banquet and was eager to share what she has come up with so far.
“In my speech I am going to say everything that I have done to get to the position I am today,” Kline said.
Furthermore, the teachers that the students have invited are also extremely thrilled knowing that they have been invited and that they helped create an impact on the student that invited them Alicia Richhart, a MHS Spanish teacher, was invited to the banquet and was eager to comment on the event.
“Being invited to the banquet is such an honor. It makes me feel like I have truly made an impact on someone, and they care enough to comment about it,” Richhart said.
Overall, the banquet is a way for students to be celebrated and honored for their academic achievements and honors. The banquet will be held on Monday, May 8 at 6p.m at the Pioneer Cafe. The students that are invited to the banquet
