School Year Recap 2022-2023
With the 2022-2023 school year coming to a quick ending there are many things that students, teachers, and administrators can look back upon and be grateful for. Students all throughout Mooresville High School have gained many new experiences, friends, and memories.
Many students at MHS agree that the 2023-2024 school year has not only brought them happiness and positivity, but also a stronger bond with not only their family, but their friends as well. Having a social and outgoing friend group throughout a student’s high school years is a way for students to get through the hard times of high school and also make the fun times last even longer. Freshman, Brooklyn Clements, had many comments to give about her freshman year and her friend group.
“I really enjoyed making new memories with my friends and creating new experiences with them as well. I also really enjoyed becoming friends with new people that I have never met before,” Clements said.
Continually, there were many more events about the school year to enjoy. Everything from playing sports for athletes, or watching athletes play sports, to Prom or Homecoming everyone found a way to enjoy something about the school year. Senior Gavin Rogers really enjoyed his last year in high school and made the most of his experience.
“I really enjoyed our basketball season, going out to Prom, and meeting new people this year,” Rogers said.
Furthermore, this school year was the grand opening of the new fitness center, and The Pioneer Pavilion. The fitness center provided a way for students in APC to create better physical workouts, and athletes to train harder. The new pavilion provided a way for more sports teams to be able to practice at the same time and more games to be hosted at Mooresville High School. Kinsley Bechtold, a freshman, was eager to express how the new weightroom helped her train better as an athlete overall.
“The new room helped me show my progress in my lifting and speed and how much I have improved in the weight room,” Bechtold said.
Furthermore, teachers were happy with the school year as well. The school year brought them together and events like Prom, or the Polar Plunge also brought them together as well. Teachers overall enjoyed the year and are eager for the next one. Melissa Bell, Special Education teacher was happy with how the year went and was eager to express her feelings.
“I really enjoyed the Polar Plunge and the programs that participated and the Prom at the zoo was very gorgeous. Also, the Best Buddies field day was really fun, and all the groups had a blast,” Bell said.
Overall, the school year went by extremely fast, and many students and teachers are excited to see what the new school year is going to bring.
